"Am I Not Your Mother?"

this print is about our mother... mother earth may she be called. too often she is ignored and constant damage befalls her form our irresponsible behavior....

my motivation to create this image came from a campaign run by the Quakers to end slavery... there was an image of a black man in chains kneeling on the ground, the words surrounding the images were "Am I not a man and your brother".. this awareness of brotherhood was a strong motivation toward the end of the Atlantic slave trade.. perhaps these words.. "Am I not your mother" could be a motivation for the resepct our mother deserves..

Love to you Mother Gaia

Blood and Oil.. flow from this first image into the next of our lady liberty.. she is sick in a hospital bed with 'consumption'.. insted of the care she needs to be healed, she is fed a stream of blood and oil directly into her vains.. only increasing the volitality of her sickness
